How to remember the 10 times table
- Add a zero to the end: 10 × 7 = 70.
- Every answer ends in 0, and the digits in front count 1, 2, 3 and on up.
- It’s the key to the 9s and 11s: 9 × 6 = 60 − 6 = 54 and 11 × 6 = 60 + 6 = 66.
Patterns in the 10 times table
- Each answer is 10 more than the one before: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and so on.
- Every answer is even, because an even number times anything is even.
- 10 × 10 = 100 is a square number: 10 rows of 10.
- Learning in order? You already know 10 × 1 to 10 × 9 from the earlier tables (10 × 3 = 3 × 10), so only 3 of the facts up to 10 × 12 are new.
